About Gretchen

I am a psychotherapist with a special focus on work with families and children.  My goal  is to help you create a family where both parents and children can grow to meet their full potential, becoming the persons they were meant to be.  I do this through individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, as well as  family therapy, parenting education and coaching. I use a whole family approach where possible, with a warm non-threatening style.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I hold a Master of Social Work degree with a specialization in mental health from UNC Chapel Hill.I have been practicing since 1986. Since that time I have worked in family service agencies, mental health centers, and elementary schools. I have also served as Clinical Instructor in the UNC School of Social Work. I bring to my work my passion for parenting and my personal experiences as a wife and mother of two young adult children. I live in Charlotte, NC with my husband and our English bulldog, Rosie.
